Lake Bled
Lake Bled is the iconic postcard picture of Slovenia.
A castle perched on a hell, a church on an island in the middle of the lake, all surrounded by stunning forests.
Located in the extreme northwestern region of Slovenia. Situated 1,558 feet (475 metres) above sea level at the foot of the Julian Alps northwest of Ljubljana, it is a summer health and holiday resort and a winter sports centre with good road and rail connections and summer air service. The mild subalpine climate affords a long summer season for bathing. Nearby is Triglav National Park and other mountains in the Julian Alps and Karavanke.
Jasna Lake
Lake Jasna is a small, aquamarine lake located in Kranjska Gora region with white sand around its rim and the high mountain peaks of the Julian Alps as a dramatic backdrop.
Lake Zelenci
Walk along a special wooden footpath to the lake and its marshy surroundings. You are in for an unforgettable green experience. In this natural reserve, many interesting plant species can be found, including the carnivorous sundew, and the animals mostly include amphibians and nesting birds.
Peričnik Waterfall
En route to the Vrata Valley, above which the highest Slovenian peaks tower headed by Mt Triglav, you can find one of the tallest and most iconic waterfalls – Peričnik Waterfall. Its particularity lies in the fact that you can also walk behind it. In addition to the powerful 52-metre high lower waterfall, you can also ascend to the upper, 16-metre waterfall.
Lake Bohinj
Lake Bohinj is much larger than lake Bled, but also much quieter. if you are looking to get away from the crowds and see some of Slovenia's beautiful nature, this is the place to go. Hikers will enjoy the 12 km trail around the lake, or you can explore the lake by boat.
Savica Waterfall
One of Slovenia’s most picturesque waterfalls begins on the steep slopes of Komarča, not far from Lake Bohinj. Its unique feature is that its watercourse is split into two even before it rises to the surface. In fact, it is the source of the Sava Bohinjka River, which flows into Lake Bohinj as the Savica Stream. The Savica waterfall is an icon of Bohinj tourism, and it has great historical meaning for Slovenes and is an exceptional source of inspiration.
Soča River
When you visit this emerald green river in the middle of the summer heat, it will feel like you are breathing in all of the freshness provided by the surrounding woods. Enjoy the natural beauty, gaze at the river with a fish hook in hand and try to catch the famous Soča trout. Marvel at the river current as you walk down a path. Those who are more courageous can also experience an adrenaline adventure in Soča’s white waters.
